Job Summary

The Student Life Coordinator plans, coordinates and promotes a broad range of programs
and opportunities to enrich student life beyond the classroom; assists student leaders and advisors of campus clubs and organizations; supervises and manages all operations related to student life.

Job Duties

1. Plans and directs varied programs, activities and events for the social, recreational, and experiential learning for all students. 
2. Serves as primary advisor to the Student Government Association and provides guidance to SGA officers. 
3. Contributes expertise and organizational resources to advisors and student leaders of campus clubs and organizations. 
4. Plans and supervises an intramurals program for students. 
5. Works with the Public Information Office to promote student activities and events. 
6. Supervise or assigns supervision (when possible) for the student lounge and game room.

Perform other duties as assigned. These may include, but are not limited to:
1. Assistance with New Student Orientation events. 
2. Assistance with Commencement ceremony and other division-related events. 
3. Ability to assume evening and/or weekend duties when related to this position.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
Associate's Degree

PREFERRED:
Experience with Colleague. Experience working with sensitive data. Experience in a higher education setting. 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Planning, supervisory, budgetary, and administrative skills related to student activities
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team with individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work without direct daily supervision; to handle multiple tasks in an efficient and effective manner; to successfully supervise others in a spirit of teamwork 
  • Highly skilled in planning and organization, and also written, spoken, and interpersonal communications; x ability to represent the Student Life Office to College personnel and external entities
  • Ability to function as a ‘self-starter’ and ‘team’ player with other members of the division
  • Competence in computer usage for various administrative and creative purposes
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and anticipate consequences of proposed actions
