Job Summary
-
The Experiential Learning Coordinator reports directly to the Director, Corporate Education and Training. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting student apprentices and interns through academic advising, program of study plan development, resource identification, and community partner development. This position will promote apprenticeships and internships as educational strategies and will manage student facing aspects of Rockingham Community College’s apprenticeship and internship programs. Other responsibilities include coordination of the Federal Perkins Grant to enhance CTE curriculum programs of study.

Job Duties

Apprenticeship and Internship Coordination - Assist in development and expansion of apprenticeships (adult, incumbent worker, and youth) and internships
- Coordinate with Academic Departments, Career Services, and Business/Industry to market internships and vet applicants.
- Provide support to Apprenticeship Students throughout the apprenticeship or internship experience including recruitment, academic advising, resource identification, and other necessary services
- Provide overview of apprenticeship and internship programs to students, college faculty and staff, business and industry employers and assist in the development of marketing strategies and material to publicize apprenticeship and internship programs
- Collaborate with Rockingham County Apprenticeship & Technical Opportunity Partnership (RockATOP) Consortium to facilitate youth apprenticeships, including assistance with meeting minutes, planning and implementing apprenticeship events, website and social media assistance, oversight of RockATOP Intern.
- Serve as liaison between Apprentice Sponsor Companies/ApprenticeshipNC/RockATOP and RCC
- Serve as faculty/staff advisor and provide requested data for ApprenticeshipNC annual quality assessment and evaluation
- Manage compliance with audit requirements for students, faculty, and employers related to apprenticeships and internships
- Complete reports, schedules, presentations, events, meetings, and other projects as assigned to support completion of Apprenticeship and Internships
- Contribute to annual planning to achieve and track specific apprenticeship and internship outcomes,
- Review, analyze and summarize performance data for classes utilizing strong data tracking and communication skills to ensure and document that each apprenticeship and internship experience meets RCC’s and state standards
- Maintain accountability for all aspects of apprenticeship and internship operations
- Use state apprenticeship registration system to monitor apprentices and completions and/or ApprenticeshipNC grant requests
- Coordinate pre-apprentice and apprenticeship course schedules with appropriate team members and manage class application process
- Collaborate with Career Services, WBL course faculty, and Community Resources to provide on job seeking and employment skills related to apprenticeships and internships such as: resume writing, interviewing, networking, workplace behavior, and general career development
- Coordinate with division deans, program leadership, faculty and workforce staff to develop and implement courses and programs designed to meet the training and development needs of employers
- Travel, as needed, to Apprenticeship or Internship sponsor companies, ApprenticeshipNC events, Community events, and business/industry events
Carl T Perkins Grant- Coordinate the Carl T. Perkins grant activities for Rockingham Community College, including: direct CTE departments on conducting CLNAs, prepare Perkins applications, manage spending, attend state meetings, prepare reports, share information from monthly and other meetings with administration, etc.
Other Duties- Participate in state, regional, and national industry-related associations and organizations.
- Serve on appropriate standing committees across the College
- Coordinate work-based learning experiences
- Assist with program assessment and evaluation
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a career and technical education program or related field
or
Associate’s degree in a career and technical education program from a regionally accredited institution and two years of relevant work experience in a business/industry environment
Valid Driver's License -

Preferred: Experience with registered apprenticeships, internships, grant management
