Firefighter Driver/Operator I

Positions: FIREFIGHTER DRIVER/OPERATOR I
Salary Range-$40,530-$63,719 (DOQ)
 
Job Summary
Under general direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, performs fire suppression, station maintenance, and fire prevention duties. Operates in a team environment, responding to and assisting with various emergency and non-emergency situations, including structures, automobiles, wildland fires, and medical emergencies. Performs routine commercial pre-fire planning. Conducts daily emergency equipment inspections and performs maintenance. Regular station maintenance duties include sweeping, mopping, cutting grass, and laundry.
 
Desirable Education and Experience
Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and some work experience in firefighting are preferred; completion of department training is also preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is available.
 
Requirements
North Carolina completion of Firefighter Certification                                                                                                North Carolina Class C Driver License
 
Preferred Requirements
Possession of a valid Class B NC or Equivalent Driver’s License                                                                         NC Driver /Operator Certification / NC Aerials Certification                                                                             City of Eden Application                                                                                                                                           Pre-employment drug screen
